President's Message |

We bless the name of God, for this wonderful privilege to be a part of this great organization, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), where we still believe in and hold on to the dream of our founder and president, the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We thank our national president, Dr. Charles Steele, Jr., for his vision and leadership. I am honored to give leadership to one of the greatest Chapters in these United States. The question was asked of me, is the SCLC still needed in this day and time? Of course, my response was, do we still have racism? Are we still faced with trials and tribulations within the African-American community and other minority communities? Do we still have challenges with economic prosperity and adequate healthcare? Thus, it was concluded that the relevancy of SCLC is still and much needed. |
| As we take the torch in this great city of Dallas to bring justice and equality to all mankind- in our nonviolent but direct action approach, as we continue to strive to make our families strong, and give our children and youth guidance and examples to follow, I challenge you to become a part of this Chapter were you can help invoke change, let your voice be heard and you can make a difference in this city. Dr. King said it best, “If a man hasn’t discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live”. Be Blessed, |
